​OREGON SENIOR GAMES

One of Bend’s newest athletic events is perhaps its most ambitious: The Oregon Senior Games. At the games, athletes ages 50 and older can compete in one of the sixteen sports offered at a variety of scenic venues around Central Oregon.  Competitors from around the country come in to enjoy an unforgettable weekend of athleticism and fun.  The event serves as a great chance for participants to test their mettle against each other while enjoying a getaway to the outdoor playground of the West.  Just completing its inaugural year, the games are great for both the super-competitive athlete and those just looking to stay active. The first year was a success, and with our help, we expect the numbers to double in year two.

 

We cast our media net wide to spread the word about this new event to Oregon. We communicated with just about every Pickleball, Badminton and Swimming publication in the west, as well as the usual TV and newspaper outlets in the region. We also managed all social media for the event. We were pleased with the attention the media gave the games, including mentions in The Oregonian, The Bulletin, KTVZ-21, MyWindow (TV) and The Source Weekly.
